Overlap
Our oldest son just had his end-of-the-season soccer party at CiCis last night and the whole thing gave me the warm and fuzzies. My brother coached them this year and I was extremely proud to have a family member invest themselves in such a worthwhile effort (the Captain helped out too so that was also very cool).
To show our appreciation, we went together and got him a Coach’s Thank You card and the Kicking and Screaming DVD (which I hope he’ll really enjoy) and my sister-in-law bought all the players little goodie bags full of soccer stuff.
It was especially great for us because we had 4 kids on the team that already knew each other- I like the way Church spills into sports, sports spills into work, work spills into family and family spills into Church. My life has a lot of overlapping which is super cool because I’m always surrounded by people I care about (and who care about me).
Time well spent! Goodness all around.

Thanks for the kind words and the movie. I had a great time coaching all those kids. It was cool to have my son & nephew on the same team. And thanks to Cap for all the help. I don't think I'll coach soccer again, but I am glad I tried it once. I am looking forward to coaching T-Ball though.
