Chili Cookoff
Now we, our department, have been informed that we are to be on a group together for our company's Chili Cookoff. I LOVE the Chili Cookoff and generally find the whole idea of working together for entertaining purposes to be a good thing. Having said that- I get too bossy but I try to keep it in check. I'm just competitive and so I want things done "right" though I know there's more than one way to do something "right". This I am sure of but in my defense- our teams always do well or at least are something we can feel good being apart of. So here I am, almost totally out of ideas.
We've got Soccer Moms (even though we have boys on the team) and that's about it. We did think about doing a play on Charlie's Angels and be Fred's (our boss' name) Angels but after thinkin' it over- I just didn't feel it. So now my good friend and coworker mentioned it might be smart to have a name that has something to do with chili. Now I'm think Chilly Chili-might be good- like cold outside chili. But beyond that I'm not sooo sure. We'll need a backdrop, props, and costumes- lots to consider. What do you think? We get some money from the company to work with but it doesn't go too far. I've got this Tim Burton thing in my mind- taking our paper rolls and twisting them up, painting them black and making big scary trees out of them and such. Then putting "snow" on everything. I'm not sure what else....
Any other ideas, feedback on this one, thoughts?

If I come up with anything remotely creative I will let you know. My brain is mush this monday morning.
I hear ya, I'm really warming up to the Chilly Chili (as in a cold, dark and scary theme).
I’m thinking it would be cool to do it in the fashion of Tim Burton-
he’s big right now and his style would be so easy to recreate (think the Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas).
We could do it on the cheap and really have some great effects. I envision long drapes over a big window w/candles and such, maybe a big moon and clouds and scary trees. We could create most of it out of cheap gauzy material and our useless rolls of odd size paper
(that are the wrong size for our machine and are just collecting dust at this point).
We could have fog and some other type curly, wispy, macabre type stuff to create a”nether”/another world of Chili.
Not bloody or gross, just fantastical (is that a word) and a little dark (but not dangerous).
We could wear larger than life costumes- dressy but dirty and velvety and wispy and such- old worldish.
What do you think? My co-worker that I want to back me up is likely to read this so feel free to talk up my idea :)
Coworker Justintime- when should we start recruiting? Do you think Fred will mind if we tell those wanting to be on the team (from Planning/Program Managers) that they HAVE to participate (and follow our lead ha ha). Do you want to ask him how many people we HAVE to include. Between you, me, Cam, Shawn, and Denee- I would say only a few more. What do you think?
Sounds like a great idea. Have fun with it.
We will have fun, even the boss man seemed a little interested in this theme- we'll see :)
