Why do I...
Why do I spend so much money when I go to Target or Wal-Mart? I mean, they do such a good job of carrying what I want at an awesome price. But then again, they also do a good job of charging more than I expect on stuff I need. Which brings me to my point- why can't I control my spending at these places? I don't go overboard- I buy stuff that seems logical. I know people who buy dumb stuff (like that football shaped crock pot that caught my eye that I DIDN'T BUY but sort-of wanted too). I don't buy candles, I don't buy seasonal, I don't buy toys and I don't get decorative stuff. All these things I'd like but I try to live lean, I try to only buy the essentials.
Here's my simple purchase list...
Cones for Soccer Practice $12
Whistle for Soccer Practice $3.50
Cute Black&Red Outfit for Jack for Soccer Practice $13
Cute Red Shirt to decorate for me for Soccer Practice $3
Bday presents for Nephew's Birthday $6 + $4 + $7
Socks for Kole (the boy LOVES decorative socks) $6
AND I STILL NEED A PUMP FOR THE SOCCER BALLS.
Now I'm poor and I didn't even buy anything that significant. Still I LOVE what I got. I'm so going to be ready for practice and everything I bought I can really use/get alot of use out of.
Am I the only that blows the budget when you go to the store for a few quick things (all I planned on getting was cones and the whistle)? What was the last thing you bought that wasn't on the list that made you super happy? That $3 shirt for me really did it. But all in all, anything for soccer is cool too.
I love shopping, just wish I had more cash to blow- that $50+ bill could have easily been ALOT more. Poor Captain, he didn't get ANYTHING. But last shopping trip (to Target) he did get a You Don't Know Jack Shirt (and Jack got a shirt that says Lumber Jack). See what I mean, these places know just what to sell me. It is CRAZY.

I always over spend. Every where I go I have just a few things on my list but always end up buying twenty more. I chalk it up to that my brain can't remember everything I need when I make my list so if it could remember then those things would of been on my list anyways. See how that works. It's reverse psychology for yourself.
target is my brother's favorite store too!
Oh man, becster is right- those darn endcaps. They totally get me. I LOVE to get around to them all- the deals, the deals (they make me drunk with happiness).
SMFB: good thought-process. Besides, getting all the "other" stuff is FUN. I love what I got for your lil' ones Bday. Wonder if mine will be jealous? Do I sense another trip to the store? Likely.
justintime- you are such a great blogger. I feel like we're having a conversation. You know, that day I called- had you answered, we would have gone to the sports store. So basically it is your fault I overspent. But then again, because of you, I got lots of great stuff too. Of course my trip to Target didn't cost as much as yours ;) Too soon to joke huh? Sorry. hee hee.
tintin- wasn't sure if a shopping topic was going to get a response from you. Even non-shoppers like Target. Target has so got it figured out (and I'm finally allowed to return things there again w/out a receipt).
justintime- that sounds like a great idea. The cones didn't really work- they were more of a distraction. We're going to use them in a week to two when they lose their luster.
Can't wait to read about the meeting. You know I'll comment :)
if i dont need anything i dont go to the mall... because i cannot resist it if i see something on bargain... like you, i tend to overboard at walmart too.
