Strawberry Shortcake

You ordered a Sour Grapes figurine???? said my friend that is having a Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Party.

Then she admitted to looking for a SSC one too.

Just for a little background, she had each of us pick a character for the party- I chose Sour Grapes.

My other friend was cracking up about my hunt for Sour Grapes. She said her husband would just shake his head when she talked about it (that's why I didn't talk about it to mine).

Then this friend admitted to trying to find Lemon Meringue on the "official" SSC website but no luck. But now she says the challenge is on!

My sickness in infecting the world (evil laugh).

I had so much fun researching Strawberry Shortcake- the figurine I bought was purchased really reasonably and I’m guessing might even be worth more $$$ soon. I always wanted Sour Grapes and never did get to have her so it was cool to finally reach that goal- now about all the others… in time, in time.

I wish I could have gotten a doll but Sour Grapes and her pet snake we’re not as popular as the other characters and so they are not available in dolls and whatnot. There was a Raisin Cane character that I thought was cute too (related to Sour Grapes) but I couldn’t find much on her either (and I like the challenge of tracking down hard to find stuff).

This one site I found had one of a kind specially made Strawberry Shortcake Characters and they were so cute- there were no prices and I figure if you have to ask… but you could pick your theme and this lady would make one for you and it looked JUST LIKE THE REAL ONES. http://www.ozblueberry.com/CustomJane1.html

Anyway, Raisin Cane was never produced as a doll. Her character was actually introduced in the comic... but there are custom dolls being produced. Now I want one. Why? I don't collect anything. I'm not one to accumulate stuff but for some reason I like tapping into the Raisin Cane inside of me, the little girl that still just wants to play most of the day.
