Long Hair- I long for it...

So sometimes it is fun to wonder about the superficial… Yes I’m blogging about hair again. This time it is because I am so motivated to growing it out. By chance Becster happened to lean into me when we were taking a picture and I got a glimpse as to what I might look like with light colored long hair. I like it. I’m going to miss my short cut though, it is sooo easy and I hope somewhat unique. Still, now that I just had a birthday- guess I want to hold onto whatever youth I have left. That or I just like the idea of having a different look. Here’s some pictures for fun (if I wasn’t so cheap I’d get the program out there that shows you what you’d look like with different types of hair cuts/colors but…). This is it for now.

Before I read this entry, I thought those were pics from high school. Not that you look old in real life, but Becky's hair does take 10 years off ya. Hee Hee! I really do like Becky's hair on you (length and color), it looks real cool! See if she can give it to you. After seeing those pics, I'm growing mine out too! Short hair is too much work and I feel younger with long hair.
My short cut is sooo easy- I'm REALLY spoiled. The last cut especially is really fun. I can wear it "wet" and close to my head, blow dry it straight and go for a different look or pin it back for a casual style. When I first cut it super short back in October I was excited to get out of the hair coloring habit- all the stuff going on at the time made me realize life is too short and hair is not worth so much time and effort (but here I am talking endlessly about it). Anyway, I do admit that the cut didn't make me as happy as I would have liked. When I was younger- 18, everyone seemed to LOVE my hair super short (there were some exceptions though) but this time around it just got mixed reviews (it is pretty clear that longer is better for me these days).
Now that I don't dye my hair I think it will be healthier and that is a MUST for me- long nasty hair isn't good, that's the biggest reason I've cut it in the past.
Anyway, I like the idea of looking a little older from the perspective of being taken "seriously" and because I like who I am at this age- why pretend to be young and dumb? BUT since this age is considered "aging" to some, I suppose I don't mind if long hair makes me look younger. Does that make sense?
I have been growing out my hair since I cut it but the dramatic cut I had has to be grown out in steps so while it doesn't seem all that long, I hope it won't be long before it does seem long. I’m hoping for a Bob around Christmas. I mean Bob as in a style, not a man- a Mike is more than I need.
Interesting that the natural curl has increased so much- that's just odd. Wonder what it will look like with the gray curls- that will be a change. Captain commented how good a graying Mom looked on our T-ball team so I suppose at least he might like it? In anycase, it will look lighter than it has in the past when it was long.
This is by far the longest I’ve gone without messing with my hair dramatically- with color or a big change in the cut. Of course when you’re growing it out change is ongoing. Wonder if I can stick to it- growing it out that is?
On your hair- I LOVE it short but I can see how you can get sick of fixing it. We have really different hair types and while you’re super thick hair is beautiful- I know it can be challenging. I think you look great at any length but a switch to long might be a fun way to mix things up- why stay the same right?
Wow! Your comment was the size of a novel! You know me, I am biased to long hair. Not sure why, just am. I did like my hair short. It was fun and I felt more mature. But I think I might grow it out again. At least I now know what I look like with short hair and it isn't as scary as I once thought. On your hair, I do like it long, but when it is short you can do so much more cute stuff to it. Long hair doesn't have many options. Either up or down, no in betweens. But like I said I did like Becky's hair on you. Maybe buy some wigs. Or cut Becky's hair off when she's sleeping and tape it to your head. That would be AWESOME!
As someone that has long hair I can say that just like short hair it is a love/hate relationship. Like Sunny said its up or its down. It is hard to get creative unless you are a hair dresser, a gift for doing hair or have the money to have some one do it. But I do have to say one of the greatest things about having long hair is that when you don't have time to fix it, you can put it in a baseball hat and it looks pretty good.
I say let your hair grow. It will look good!! I am growing mine out again, although it is hard to suffer through in the summer. :)
I can talk about hair all day (and I have as you can see).
SMFB- you're suggestion will be taken under consideration (about cutting Becster's hair and taping it on to my head). Maybe I'll glue it though instead? Heck I've already used the picture for my profile- ha ha.
I am going to grow it out Pixie, I just wish it would grow faster.
I can't wait to wear a ponytail, Ree the cap thing doesn't work for me- it just gives me zits (not cute)!
Captain, your comment wasn't bad- I was happy to hear you liked the way she looked (even though you may have meant that I would look that way).
