Tough
Life is tough. We deal with so much- the stuff that seems to matter most often doesn't matter much at all, it is the stuff we don't plan on. I just recently did a posting on http://DadsRecovery.blogspot.com and I need to revisit it- it was on suffering and it looks like our family is in for some more painful times.
This is it- this is what defines us: not how we act in the good times but how we react when faced with difficulties. Reality- it isn't optimistic nor is it pessimistic, it just is. I know we're all close enough to be there for each other and we'll get through this but moving forward can be so difficult when you keep feeling like all the challenges are threatening to hold you back. We will get through this, we will move forward but for today it will be with a heavy heart.
God, love us and help us love each other through this.

Just like Kristy said in her suffering blog on your dad's blogsite, we've got to realize that suffering is bound to happen. Pastor said some great things in that sermon that really hit home and made a lot of sense. God has a purpose for each and every one of us. Sometimes I think these things happen for a reason just to bring people together and to become more aware that the things we thought were important were actually not that important. That our main focus shouldn't be on materialistic things and goals but God and how we can serve him. Suffering makes you reevaluate your entire life. Makes you realize life is short and fragile and that we should spend more time with our family and tell them how much they mean to us daily. And I also think that sometimes the trials and suffering we go through is really to bless others and praise God. Our own personal scars and suffering helps bring others to God. For instance with your dad's accident, look how it affected so many people. Everyone started praying more (so many people came up to me and said "I'll pray for Jerry"), people started attending church more, we all became closer and loving, others came to our need and helped us in every way they could, people shared their similar stories to give us the strength and hope to keep going. We became a big ministry helping each other all in thanks to God. We now can help talk to others that are now going through a similar incident and give them hope just like people did when we were going through it in the beginning. I hope this helps and thank you guys for all the support. I love you.
"Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord" - Psalms 31:24
2005 has not been a very good year for our family. It seems like we have had a share of saddness and suffering. All of these life changing things have been so hard. It seems like we take one step forward and two steps back, but what I keep telling my self everyday is that as long as we keep getting that one step forward and maybe we will still get to something good. I just hope that I am right in this thinking.
There will always be good times and bad times- they mixin' w/each other. That's why you have to find reasons to be happy- if you don't seek it you can miss it.
Remember that song
I beg your pardon
I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine
There has to be a lil' rain sometimes
Flowers can grow without rain.
