Queen of the Happenstance Realm

Happenstance, it is all just happenstance isn't it? This blog is used to share my thoughts about whatever silly or serious somethin' or other that's on mind- I use to update it everyday until... until... Feel free to leave comments, I love sharing ideas and IF you comment, I might start posting again. Represented are some aspects of who I am. All this together is a small piece of my life.

Tonight We Make a Costume

I love Halloween but I don't think people have to try as hard now to come up with cool costumes. Back when I was a kid, a store bought costume was something everyone laughed at, the creative ones were the best. But the store ones are really cool now so I can see the appeal of purchasing one but I'm a sucker for seeing what people can create themselves.
So I've decided to try and be creative with the lil' ones'
(while he can't complain too much about not looking like everyone else). Here's some ideas I'm working off of for my Crispy Critter..

Tonight we're going to go shopping to buy stuff so his costume will be ready for tomorrow's Halloween thing up at Dad's recovery place.

I know I want him to look bug like or little critterish- a tail would be cool, a head thing isn't likely going to be worn for long and he doesn't really like things that aren't as they should be so hopefully what we come up with will work.

We might just burn up some clothes and make him all ashy- and have him be burned out. I'm not sure about this idea because it doesn't seem too kidlike and I want him to like his costume. I love the idea of working his costume with his brothers- the Human Torch.

What was your best Homemade costume- mine was Sleepy (as in Snow White and the 7 dwarfs). I had the big ears, floppy hat, potato sac shoes and a long droopy robe with oversized white mittens and super long eyelashes. I LOVED IT.

Those sound really cute Krit, I know your boys will look awesome! Post some pictures when you can. I never dressed up at Halloween cause my mom HATES Halloween so I just got in the habit of not celebrating it...but I LOVED the three hole punch costume the other night on The Office. LOL!! That was GENIUS! Are you and the Cap dressing up this year?

I'm not sure if we'll dress up. We're sort-of running out of time. I liked the 3 hole punch thing too- very funny. Of course, the Office is just plain ole' funny.

How come your Mom doesn't like Halloween?

She thinks it is a celebration of evil...I guess the origin of it doesn't agree with her. Deep down, I think it is because she was a second grade teacher for 35 years and Halloween meant kids + sugar = insanity. LOL

That's funny, I can understand the view but I try to think of it as just a fun time to have an excuse to do something different. I don't go to doom or gloom route- more silly and whatnot for that reason.

2nd grade teacher at Halloween time- yeah that might turn you sour. Teachers put up with alot- I couldn't do it- I think I'd be sour any EVERYTHING. I love kids but that many EVERYDAY- no way.
