TV
Okay so TinTin took my topic for the day- what’s your favorite show on TV? For me there are a few right now that I’m recording/watching…
UFC (on Spike)
LOST
My Name is Earl
The Office
Miami Ink
Fastforwarding through commericals cuts down on TV time but man- there are just too many good shows on. A month ago I wasn’t watching but maybe 1 hour a week of TV (not counting kid stuff).
But what has been your ALL TIME FAVORITE SHOW? What show did you want to never go off the air. What show did you have to talk about with all your friends. Last year it was Nip/Tuck for me. I still love it but it is so bad that I couldn’t have the kids ANYWHERE around and a few times when we thought they were down for the night- they'd walk by and see something crazy. I felt so bad that I decided that something so bad for them to see probably isn’t good for me to see. That and the storylines really got to me. Like the sadness of some of them would bum me out for DAYS (same thing with 6 Feet Under).
Anyway- all time GOOD shows…
LA Law comes to mind. I also loved Homefront or was it Homeplace? They had great actors and really interesting story lines. I learned a lot from both shows and at the same time just really enjoyed watching them. I suppose I was at that impressionable stage where both aspects appealed to me.
There was the tried and true 90210 and Melrose Place of course- what else though? Oh ER. Is that still on? I need to set the timer if so- I’ve watched it since day 1. We can't forget Friends either or Cheers- that brings me to Night Court.
In the childhood times I couldn’t miss Punky Brewster (and I often still think of various episodes with that darn Margo and sweet Cherry- not to mention Punky’s “Dad” Mr. Henry). I watched Saved by the Bell but I always thought it was pretty dumb.
Okay folks- it’s TV time, give your 2 cents worth.

I LOVE Nip/Tuck...but I am with you Krit...wouldn't watch it with kids in the house. It is SO bizarre. I think I like it so much because it makes me think outside of my little box...and also makes me grateful that my life is so normal compared to any one's on that show. :) I also LOVE The Office, it just cracks me up. Last night was so funny. Seinfeld will always be great, and another one that made my list is Scooby-Doo. Yes, I said it. I love Scooby Doo.
You know mine: BTVS and now Alias.
Others I sorta like but don't really follow:
Veronica Mars
Amazing Race
Others I really like but kind of second choices:
Medium
CSI (Las Vegas, the original and best)
Law & Order SVU
FinPro: I wish I could remember a thing about Miami Vice (besides the clothes). I just don't recall much about it and I was too young to drink when it was on so I'm not sure what the deal is. All I can think of now about MV is how much fun we had talking about it at you'alls house that night. That was a GREAT night. I also remember the drinks- you are a good bartender my friend.
JT: So cute that you and Hubby share DH together- I can't picture Rick digging it but I think it is cool that he does because I know how much you like it. OC is crazy, I can' get into that but I get the appeal- plus it is another one of those shows the Cap doesn't like so... But you're right- it is the 90210 of this generation.
HC: Becster liked MSCL too. I think she loved it in fact. I saw it as a show that wasn't going to stay on the air so I didn't invest myself in it :(
Pixy: the Office was funny last night. I think they've tweaked this show just right. The boss is becoming more likable. You can sort-of see where he's coming from. I love how the one guy talked him out of firing him. Then the tearing up of the GC (I would have kept it- w/out a job now that meal might come in handy). Hope the sec and cool guy end up together- when she said she'd blow her brains out if he left... ah it was so sweet. When he said he would have taken the job (and all the many perks) if she left...
TT: Law and Order SVU is so good but because it is so bad- IE: the content is pretty disturbing, I've had to stop watching it. The lil' ones possibly seeing something just isn't good. But in my book- that is the LA Law of our generation.
FP- we did marry young, I wasn't even old enough to drink (until I got married). You can drink w/your spouse if they're old enough and you have your IDs/Marriage Certs and the server decides they want to serve you (they can deny you but most didn't).
Other insights on marrying young are for another blog. No regrets- there isn't another man I've ever met that I would have rather married. He gets me (and at this point he's stuck with me). ha ha
I have had so many favorite shows. All the ones that Krit mentioned are awsome.
From the past: Punky, Night Court (they play reruns on TV land), Cheers, Roseanne, Growing Pains and Family Ties. (I am sure that there are more but I just can't think of the rest)
All time favorites: Friends, Sex in the City, Party of Five, Homefront and 90210
Current Favorites: ER (still on Thrusdays), CSI (Vegas is fav but I watch all three), Desprate Housewives, Greys, Lost, My Name is Earl and I catch the Law and Order SVU most of the time, Lost, and Inconceviable (they canceled it already but I liked it)
Basically I am a couch potato, Michael is always at work at night and I do not have any where to go and anything to do so I watch TV.
