What I bought...
I was wanting to know where my hard eared money went so I made a general list from my more specific spreadsheet:
A Cookbook, Devotionals (2), Interest Books (2), Bath Sets (5), Perfume Set, an Eye Mask, Liqueur, CDs (3), DVDs (3), Game Controller & Game, Football Pillow, Shoes (3), Tops (21), Boxers (2), Socks (6), Slippers (5), Underwear (3), a Power Ranger Belt, Pants (5), Skirt (1), Wacky Glasses (3), Backpack, Purses (3), Hat, Lapel Pins (3), a Tiara Pillow, Throw Blankets (2), Newspaper Subscription, Chocolate, Mints, Bath Foam, Batteries, 2 Clay Project Sets, Remote Control Car, Remote Control Dinosaur, Dinosaur Eggs, Magnifying Bug Glass, Bug Candy (2), Kid’s Talking Alarm Clock, Mini Fake Fish Tanks (2), Rebux Cube, Madagascar Chia, Mounting Monkey Mask, Talking Alien Dude, Name Game, Plush Dog Vet Set, Domino Set for Kids w/ Line-them-up Truck, Memory Board, $30 Cash, a Bone and I’m sure there’s more.
I had so much fun shopping and I hope everyone liked their gifts. Every year I try to switch things up and the groupings are sort-of my thing but trying to be creative and thoughtful about it is sometimes difficult to pull off.
I think it was a total of 26 people to buy for, for a budget of under $1000 (including my Christmas Picture Card and Letter/Postage). I suppose $1000 is about what it takes for a family our size to pull off Christmas beginning to end. I could have shaved about $150 off but for the amount of pleasure vs. savings- it wouldn't be worth it.
I didn't do ANY after Christmas shopping though so really I think I'm still ahead of last years monthly spending, something to feel good about.

I guess keeping track of everything allows me to stay on top of things. I don't remember things well (or always correctly) so paying attention to details and documenting them is a way of life for me.
Still can't believe I didn't hit any sales after Christmas. Oh well (JT I'm jealous).
Today on my lunch I'll do our finances- it was been over a week so we'll see where we're at and maybe a lil' shopping will be possible (I hope).
I WISH I bought bella dancerella dolls but alas my boys would likely not appreciate them. One day maybe I'll be able to buy a bella dancerella for my own child.
The huge tiara pillow I bought was my fav girl gift to give and my niece LOVED it. Buying for girls is soooo fun.
No fair doing spending estimates on what you remember- if I had to guess based on what I remembered I would figure about $500. Of course I've made that mistake before and have been TOTALLY broke throughout January because of it (hence the record keeping now). This year I'm happy to say there will be no credit card balances and we're on track financially. No extra $ but we're on track (and that's with a night out on the town too).
Mare- you get the award for stretching a dollar. That is ALOT of people to buy for and you didn't spend much considering.
Can't believe it is all over :(
Back to the day-to-day stuff.
