Queen of the Happenstance Realm

Happenstance, it is all just happenstance isn't it? This blog is used to share my thoughts about whatever silly or serious somethin' or other that's on mind- I use to update it everyday until... until... Feel free to leave comments, I love sharing ideas and IF you comment, I might start posting again. Represented are some aspects of who I am. All this together is a small piece of my life.

Dentist

My Dentist is fine. Not like fine- good looking, just fine no real issues that stand out fine. I think he does a good job and all of that but I hate going to him.

I don't like spending money on things that don't directly pay-off. And I'm not so sure that Dentistry is a profession that is 100% honest. Aren't we really at their mercy?

Does anyone else feel violated when you're laying on that bench with strangers looming over you? I mean, how cool does one look when they have their mouth stretched to the max?
I feel a fool.

Today my lips got dry, it was taking A LONG time to get my fillings and the assistant guy had to apply lip balm to my lips. He was trying to apply it with a q-tip. Then the Dentist saw how it wasn't working, and smeared it with his finger. But because my lips were numb, they were all jelly like and lip balm ended up all bunched up on some parts and then on my upper lip too. Odd. Don't touch my lips I wanted to say, but of course I couldn't. Then the water gun squirted my face, like on my eyes. At some point it got in my hair...

Afterwards, they try to talk like you even can? I mean, am I the only one that feels like the Dentist office is more like a Twilight Zone set?

And what's the deal with the flossing. I get it already.

I have spent over $1000 just this past month on dental for the kids and I. We have no insurance so it always hits hard in our pockets. I've always hated going to a dentist. The teeth and gums are the most sensitive part on the body I think. I went in last week to try that teeth whitening and when they were making the molds of my teeth, they left the mold on a little too long and couldn't get it off. I was in so much pain as they were trying to rip it off my teeth. Ouch. All dentists suck!

McFunny- they left the mold on too long? That's insane. Over $1000, that's not good.

Glad to hear I'm not alone on this not loving the dentist thing. At least I've only spend a lil' over $250 for a cleaning, 3 teeth pulled, and 2 fillings. I suppose it could be worse.

My Dentist is Dr. Ayes and I actually don't mind him per say- just don't like going to the Dentist in general.

Justintime, I can't find the mouth molds you speak of- I need to get some ASAP.

Okay BeLikeAduck, we're not attacking the good guys like your Dad- well maybe we are. I mean, it isn't that the Dentists are bad (though like you said, there are some that are)- its that it is so uncomfortable.

It isn't like you have this big deep relationship, in most cases you barely know each other and next thing you know your mouth is numb after getting shots, you're drooling all over the place and they're talking about your teeth with more passion than you ever have about any part of your body.

I'm glad they do what they do, but I'd rather not have to deal with it.

And they do make alot of $$$/cost alot of $$$- 4 kids through college??? Enough said (ha ha).

Justintime, I'm going to checkout Krogers. Over $550 they want to charge me at the Dentist for a mouth piece- WHATEVER.
