A Diamond Ring
Check this out...

isn't it beautiful?
It isn't even remotely close to what I'll be getting but I am getting a diamond ring all the same.
It's my 5 year company service award, WOW.
I’m a pretty sentimental person and this stuff usually means a lot to me. When a company puts forth the effort to say- we appreciate you, I feel appreciated.
Except I’ve been back here for over 6 years ago- I worked here for 3 years prior and left for 3 years so here I am celebrating 5 years with the company 12 years after I started my job.
But a diamond ring has a way of making things better, it is not all that fancy but I think it is nice. I can’t wait. Guess things could be worse.

That is really cool. When will you get it? Also, if they give you a diamond ring for 5 years of service, what do you get for 10 years? Just wondering....
I love it- who knew this topic was gonna be such a conversation starter? Happy Days.
For those who may have the wrong impression- my ring is very simple and the diamond- very small. But I do like the way it looks in the picture. I've been waitin' to get skinny enough to wear my original band (hey I should try it again), but if I'm not- I can use this in the meantime. It would be better than the silver band I'm sportin' now and I can just wear the silver on the other hand. The Wedding band is gold and I'm thinkin' one day we'll get a new setting that isn't (and fits). We'll see.
Ree- according to T-Clan-Man, I may have to wait AWHILE for it though. Oh well, I'm still excited.
Poor J-time, we went through a lot that first year (or so) here. But I guess you can say things have worked out/or things are working out.
Bec, how did you get that duck on its own url? Did you post the image and then copy the site in? I think Just-A-Freak had to do some creative stuff to get her's to work on the one she wanted but at least you'all have great images now.
All's well that ends well.
Not to mislead- the wedding ring (not band) that I have is wonderful and I love it. Didn't mean to say it was a band. Just can't decide if I want to spend the $ to add gold to the band part (it has been stretched too far to fit and doesn't look right anymore) OR if I just want to get a different setting that isn't gold.
Seeing that I'm not that into the expense side of jewelry, it is something I'd like to do (so I can show off my ring) but it isn't something I HAVE to do right away. One of these days...
Meaning smeaning. Whatever T-Clan-Man.
Just kidding.
Remember I'm sporting a made in Thailand "silver" band from Dillards I bought with a GC two years ago. I'm so cheap, I haven't spent the $50 to $100 bucks I need to get my solitaire band lookin' good and it is a beautiful ring. So I'm clearly not that into the showoff aspect.
But still it is fun to dream- JustAFreak, I am very interested in that link- hee hee.
Will the ceremony for use be called Smucks of the Company? Will they schedule it, not tell us, and then put it in the company newsletter telling everyone how great it was and how much fun upper management had attending it?
You kids entertain me endlessly.
Maybe we should plan our own ceremony?
2-3 weeks off? I have some stuff that needs to get pushed through- oh well. I guess there's not much I can do about it.
Speaking of company events, I know T-Man is LEAVING US SO... he wouldn't likely be interested but Justintime, we need to think about the next chili cookoff. I have two ideas about a theme and we need to figure out who all we want on our team (or should I say who all would want to be on our team- we are 1 out of 2 now).
I'm lookin' forward to it- when is it? I heard they are supposedly doing it earlier this year. Even if we don't win, we always have fun. I do though secretly wanna win that money honey- still can’t believe the Winners lost last year. Remember how much fun we had shopping during business hours- sometimes it is just cool working in Corporate America, spending company money for fun events and getting rewarded in the end (hopefully, but in the least you look/seem involved- the whole company spirit thing).
All right T-Man, you're so on our team. But Feb??? Why, that's later than EVER. I'm sad.
Well July or Aug this year would have been cool.
Oh well, more time to prepare (though we won't use it to prepare). We'll likely wait till the last minute but it is nice to think that we won't.
